In a moment of historical tyranny and sheer madness Nero the infamous Roman emperor fiddled while Rome burned and watched his entire city go up in flames. To a great degree Ariel Sharon, the Israeli prime minister, is doing the same thing to the entire Middle East.
It is a sad reflection of our times that a war criminal like Sharon is allowed to push a nation and send an entire region toward destruction like this. But that has been the fate of Israel; it has always lacked a leader who can base his leadership on moral grounds rather than on military might.
Sharon has sealed his fate and guaranteed his place in history alongside Hitler, Milosevic, Bokasa, Pol Pot, Saddam and other such menaces. What is really pitiful is that a great country like America ties up its political destiny with such tyranny. Americans have arguably the world’s greatest democratically created document: the Bill of Rights. So how could they ally themselves with such a morally corrupt and ethically bankrupt individual?
America’s foreign policy has been hijacked by Zionists selling a fallacy called the Judea-Christian heritage. This holy link could not be farther from the truth. It’s very clear from Eastern-based churches, who don’t subscribe to these arguments and don’t tie their religion or destiny to this notion, that this argument is merely a political trick. Sharon cannot be allowed to stay in power; it’s a global moral obligation to have him removed. What he is doing in Palestine is genocide. His military response to the Arab peace initiative is his way of confirming his vision of the Middle East — a bloody, hateful vision. Sharon was elected on his promise to bring peace and security to Israel. The death toll during his days so far only confirms how far from the truth his promise is. The land that produced Biblical horror stories such as Sodom and Gomorrah is now producing Ariel Sharon. How appropriate!!
May the world realize the danger of having a mad man with a bloody mission in power. Let’s hope he is stopped. Let’s pray he goes. I see the look in his eyes...that ugly murderous look as he is tuning his fiddle on the rooftop ready to play act two of hava...hava nagila!!
