SEOUL, 4 April — South Korean Prime Minister Lee Han-dong yesterday received Commerce Minister Osama Faqeeh, who is currently on a tour to South Korea at the head of a Saudi delegation participating in the 12th session of the Saudi-Korean joint commission for economic, commercial, investment, cultural and technical cooperation, which has began its meeting here yesterday.
During the meeting Osama Faqeeh conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, to the Korean premier.
Faqeeh also discussed with the premier the ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, particularly in the economic and investment areas. He also met with the Korean commerce minister.
Earlier in his address to the meeting of the joint commission, Faqeeh underscored the growing bilateral cooperation, particularly after the signing of the general agreement for economic, commercial, technical and investment cooperation, by the two countries in 1974. He urged Korean businessmen to benefit from the available investment opportunities in the Kingdom under its new foreign investment regulations.
The participants of the meeting will review a number of topics, including ways to enhance trade exchange between the Kingdom and South Korea, protection of investment projects and dual taxing, as well as cooperation in the field of training and the exchange of expertise. (SPA)
