DAMMAM, 6 April — Visitors Al Shabab struck in the injury time to defeat hosts Al Ittifaq 2-1 in the King’s Cup soccer tournament here yesterday.
The winners who led 1-0 at the interval, took the lead through Anderson Santos in the 30th minute.
Ittifaq’s efforts to gain an equalizer bore fruit in the 74th minute when Abdur Rahman Al Yami found the target.
However, Jamaan Al Jamaan settled the issue in favor of Shabab in the 90th minute. Shabab have now moved up to the 8th spot in the league table with 24 points from 21 matches, pushing down Ittifaq to the ninth place with 23 points from 22 encounters.
