DAMMAM, 6 April — The Presidency of Civil Aviation has recommended a reduction in parking and hangar charges at Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport, in order to make the airport more competitive.
Mazin Khashoggi, director of KFIA, expressed his hope that the decision to lower charges would encourage airline companies to continue operations to and from the airport.
The recommendations were made after the airport’s administration released a detailed study on the issue.
“The study has been submitted to the higher authorities following statements by several airlines that they will cut the number of flights to the airport because of the high fees, particularly since there has been a fall in the number of passengers using the airport,” Khashoggi told Arab News.
British Airways recently announced its decision to suspend its London-bound flights from KFIA for six months.
