RIYADH, 8 April — An American travel agency has said that it is willing to provide funds to train Saudis so they can act as tour guides for Americans visiting the Empty Quarter and other tourist spots. Brid Beeler, director of the California-based World Apart, has said she has given the National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development (NCWCD) a proposal whereby it will receive payment for each American tourist who visits Mahazat Al-Sai’ed, 200 km north of Taif, and Uruq Bani Ma’arid, in the Empty Quarter. Dr. Abdul Aziz Abuzinada, secretary-general of NCWCD, is considering the details of the proposal.
