RIYADH, 8 April — More than 160 Saudi and German businessmen will meet in Jeddah today to explore the possibilities of establishing joint venture projects and examine ways of overcoming obstacles hampering closer ties.
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, minister of finance and national economy, Ali Al-Naimi, minister of petroleum and mineral resources, and Dr. Werner Mueller, German minister of economics and technology, will address the meeting.
The talks will be held within the framework of the Saudi-German Commission on Technical and Economic Cooperation.
On the sidelines of the talks, the 12th session of Saudi-German Businessmen’s Dialogue (BMD) will also be organized. The BMD will be co-chaired by Khaled Juffali from the Saudi side and Peter Jungen from the German side. The plenary session will address among other subjects two core sectors for investment, gas and telecommunications. Al-Naimi will speak on the new gas initiative.
