US Secretary of State Colin Powell is now in the Middle East. This is his third visit to the region. But it is obvious that the visit is part of an American maneuver aimed to contain the Arab fury, not to stop the Israeli state terrorism against the Palestinians.
It is also obvious that the US administration planned Colin Powell’s trip so as to give Israeli Prime Minister Sharon ample time to complete his slaughtering of Palestinians and destroy the Palestinian Authority. This is necessary so the Palestinians will stop fighting for their legitimate rights including the creation of an independent state.
How funny Colin Powell chose Morocco as his first stop instead of flying direct to Israel and ask for an immediate halt to aggression. Funnier still is Powell’s omission of the Security Council Resolutions 1402 and 1403 that the Israelis must implement. Powell after his meetings with officials in Cairo flew to Spain giving the Israelis sufficient time to finish the unfinished business — massacres in occupied territories. Not that the US has ever tried to mask its real intentions. Washington has always supported Israel’s state terrorism calling them self-defense. In addition, the US wastes no time to criticize the besieged Palestinian president for not stopping the heroic Palestinian resistance, which in the opinion of the US is terrorism.
The US has also declared three Palestinian organizations — Hamas, Jihad and Al-Aqsa Martyrs — terrorist networks. Did they ever launch any terrorist operations on the US soil? No. But are not they fighting for the liberation of their country? If the colonialist authorities are Israelis, any resistance to occupation is terrorism in American eyes.
As for Colin Powell’s visit to the Middle East, some experts view it as a waste of time, others see it as an endeavor to freeze or marginalize resolutions approved by the international community. To be fair, there is a consistency in US attitude. When a conflict reaches a certain point, the US steps in as an honest peace broker. This US tactic was evident in Bosnia and Kosovo where it waited till the last minute before stepping in — not for restoring order or stop killings but to maintain its interests. So, the US aim is not to establish a just peace or stability in the region but to enable Sharon to destroy the Palestinian Authority, Oslo accords and any other peace treaty between Israel and Palestinians — all for the sake of Israel.
The US collusion with the Jewish entity is obvious. If any further proof was need Colin Powell is furnishing it — by his actions, words and statements.
