RIYADH, 15 April — Riyadh Governor Prince Salman has instructed concerned departments to take immediate steps to stop issuing work visas in the name of bogus firms. A committee comprising representatives from the Labor Office, Riyadh Municipality, the Passport Department, the Commerce Ministry, the Commission for Supervision and Investigation and the Recruitment Department has been set up to study the phenomenon following an increase in the number of visa applications by fake companies. Hamad Al-Hodaithy, director of the Labor Office in Riyadh, said the authorities have already stopped visa applications from 3,000 institutions in Riyadh.
