RIYADH, 20 April — Saudi intelligence chief Prince Nawaf left a Beirut hospital yesterday following a successful surgery, a Royal Court statement said.
"Prince Nawaf left the American University Hospital in Beirut on Friday morning after recovering from his operation," the statement added.
Prince Nawaf, who was a member of the delegation accompanying Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, to the Beirut Arab summit, suddenly became ill at the start of the summit.
His deputy, Prince Saud ibn Fahd, said last week that the prince was "in good health after coming out of intensive care."
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd, Prince Abdullah and Prince Sultan, second deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, contacted Prince Nawaf to send their best wishes for a speedy recovery.
