A four-year-old boy, locked inside a car by his father, was saved from almost certain death by a member of the public, minutes after the boy passed out as a result of heat and a lack of oxygen. The boy’s father had gone to the Passport Department to complete some work, leaving the boy in the car. Passersby searched for the father, but could not find him; so they broke into the car and took the boy to hospital with the help of a passport officer.

A Saudi national was killed when a large trailer hit his car on the Dammam-Alkhobar Expressway on Wednesday. The car was completely destroyed in the accident, which blocked traffic on the busy road. Another traffic accident took place near the post office headquarters in Dammam, where two cars collided. Both drivers escaped with minor injuries.

An Afghan expatriate died on Wednesday in Madinah when a wall collapsed on him during construction work. He was identified as Sirruddin, aged 40. The wall collapsed while the man was digging below it. A Civil Defense rescue team rushed the man to hospital, but he later died there of injuries to the head.

Unidentified gunmen fired at Saudi Telecom’s subscribers’ service office near Taif Industrial City on Tuesday night. The gunshots broke glasses on the front side of the building. Police in Taif have launched an investigation, although they have no idea why the attack happened.

Police arrested two unknown people carrying forged Saudi identity cards as they were trying to cross a checkpoint, said Basheer Al-Osaimy, a police officer. Osaimy urged Saudis to keep their IDs safe to prevent their misuse.
