JEDDAH, 1 May — A Saudi man convicted of stabbing to death his mother, two half-brothers, a half-sister and a Pakistani man was beheaded by the sword yesterday in the southern city of Abha, the Interior Ministry said.
The murders were the most horrific in recent Saudi history and sent shock waves through the resort city in which they took place.
Eid ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul Aziz Assiri killed his mother Zahra Zafer Abdullah, his two half-brothers Ibrahim and Abdulrahman, half-sister Fatima and Pakistani national Mohammad Aslam Mohammad Fadel.
The beheading takes to nine the number of executions in Saudi Arabia this year, according to Interior Ministry statements.
