JEDDAH, 17 May — Khalifa Al-Ismail, a Saudi numismatist, has 1,300-year-old coins minted during the Umayyad period in his collection, Al-Riyadh daily reported yesterday. He also possesses dollar bills dating back to the American Civil War of 1799. Al-Ismail asserts that the coins in his collection, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars if offered for sale, are original.
