JEDDAH, 11 June — The US laws on immigration have recently become stricter. Despite this, job seekers in designated areas can look forward to both jobs and family immigration.

“Demand for nurses and other paramedics is so great that the country is in a position to offer jobs and also immigration for their spouses and children,” an American placement executive said here yesterday.

“An estimated 10,000 job vacancies exist for paramedics across the US. A big demand for them also exists in the UK. Positions are mostly available for nurses, and ECG and lab technicians,” Jawaad K. Habibi, executive director of American Work Force LLC, told Arab News.

“I’m in contact with 28 hospitals in 10 states across the US and I am convinced that there are thousands of jobs waiting for qualified and experienced paramedics with immediate immigration facility for the selected candidate’s family,” said Habibi, who heads the placement agency.

Habibi, who worked in the procurement section of Saudi Arabian Airlines’ medical services department from 1979 to 2001, is a native of southern Indian city of Hyderabad. — K.S. Ramkumar
