JEDDAH, 27 June — Saudi Telecom Company has decided not to charge mandatory deposits required from expatriates for land phones, Al-Madinah reported yesterday. The Arabic daily said the decision had come into effect on June 18. “The company has decided to put a credit limit of SR500 for land phones,” the paper said. STC will impose an installation charge of SR300 for the first phone line and SR200 for additional ones. A previous STC decision had exempted Saudi women from such compulsory deposits — SR1,000 for national calls and SR2,500 for international calls.
