NEW YORK, 29 June — Dr. Abdullah Al-Turki, secretary-general of the Makkah-based Muslim World League, is leading a delegation to the United States, in a bid to remove misconceptions about Islam and Muslims in the country. Addressing a luncheon hosted by Fowzi Shubokshi, the Kingdom’s representative to the United Nations, Turki highlighted the MWL’s efforts to promote dialogue with other religions and civilizations. The delegation will focus on issues like human rights in Islam, women’s rights and issues related to Muslim minorities, he added. (SPA)
