IN a deal valued in excess of SR1 million, Sigma Paints, a joint venture of the fifth largest paint company in the world, the SigmaKalon Group, has implemented Sage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to manage its business in Saudi Arabia. The new software has helped integrate business processes across offices and improve operational efficiencies. Over a four-month period, Algosaibi Information Systems, a Sage Enterprise Partner, successfully implemented the 55-user system at Sigma’s sales and marketing offices in Dammam, Alkhobar, Riyadh and Jeddah. Sage manufacturing suite is also being implemented at the Sigma Paints Factory in Dammam. Jo Paffen, general manager, Sigma Paints Saudi Arabia, and area director for SigmaKalon in the Middle East said, “Although SigmaKalon is using SAP in other locations, for the Middle East, we chose Sage ahead of SAP because it best suited our functional requirements. We also wanted a vendor that had a proven track record and strong local presence. TotalFinaElf, our parent company, recently implemented Sage in Dubai in their lubricant operation and are extremely happy.”
