PATNA, 10 July — Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi yesterday rejected the resignation of Agriculture Minister Ghulam Sarwar and persuaded him to stay on in her Cabinet. Sarwar, a former speaker of the assembly, had resigned after raising objections on the nomination of Nilambar Chaudhary, a Congress party member of the state legislative council to the syndicate of Rajindra Agriculture University at Pusa. Sarwar accused Choudhury of having offered him a bribe of 500,000 rupees for getting him nominated to the syndicate. Speaking to reporters in the presence of Sarwar, the chief minister said, “Sarwar Sahib is our uncle and our guardian. He has been persuaded to continue in the Cabinet.
