Not surprisingly, I read an article written in the Washington Post on Tuesday, August 6, 2002, that made Saudi Arabia a new American target. It did not shock me a bit to read this news since it has become very obvious that the Bush administration wants to change the rulers of most of Middle Eastern countries, with exception of Israel, of course.

For the past couple of years I have been very active in writing papers that have been published on the web sites of the Middle East Wire as well as Kurdish media that mainly shed the lights on how America views the Muslim and the Middle East countries.. In one specific article I wrote how America was trying to create friction between countries in that region so they hate one another and at the same time, pretending to be a friend of one and the enemy of another. That is how the Bush system works!

In today's Post is an article titled ‘Briefing Depicted Saudis as Enemies’. The Defense Policy Board, a group of prominent intellectuals and former senior officials that advise the Pentagon on defense policies, presented this "advice." The article begins with: " A briefing given last month to a top Pentagon advisory board described Saudi Arabia as an enemy of the United States, and recommended that US officials give it an ultimatum to stop backing terrorism or face seizure of it's oil fields and its financial assets invested in the United States. Furthermore, they said, " Saudi Arabia supports our enemies and attacks our allies." And described Saudi Arabia as "the kernel of the evil." It is amazing how any American, politician or not, could make such a statement about a country that has been in the forefront of every American interest and the fight against terrorists among other things. It is absurd to read such lies coming from those "prominent intellectuals."

"I think it is a mistake to consider Saudi Arabia a friendly country," said Kenneth Adelman, a former aide to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who is a member of the Defense Policy Board. In my opinion, these people have lost their minds! That is how Americans treat their "friends" after 60 years of friendship. It just proves that America has NO friends, only followers like Tony Blair, and enemies in this world. It is sad to see American politicians make the whole world turn against its citizens. It is the average good American citizen that suffers when his or her country is hated. We have all witnessed the killing of Americans living or visiting other countries only because of their citizenship and not what they have done. American politicians are making it very difficult for their citizens to enjoy the overseas travel and conducting business.

"The 'advisory board" is recommending that Saudi oil fields and overseas financial assets should be "targeted" if the Saudis refuse to comply with the American demands," the article asserted. Does that mean that the Americans are free to freeze a person's money that is invested in the US stock market, which is more than five billion dollars, if the country he lives in is in conflict with America? Could a Saudi man be punished even though he is a businessman and has nothing to do with politics? The thought the America keeping a foreign investor's money will probably make every single Arab in this world take their money out of the American stock market and put it in the European markets. I have worked in the financial field for twelve years and I know the adverse affect such action will have on the already depressed American stock market.

America has already unjustifiably ruined many countries economically and socially, such as the case in Iraq, and now it is targeting other countries for no reason but to exercise its mighty powers at the expense of others. It seems very clear to me that America is a country that is trying to impose its' ideologies and ways of "behaving" on other people around the world. As Bush has "told" the world, " you are either with us or against us." Just as I am writing this report, the Americans are preparing for a meeting with the "Iraqi opposition" group in Washington, DC that is to be held in two days. They are trying to convince, or black mail, the Kurds to join their invasion of Iraq.

As an Iraqi Kurd that had visited that area sixteen times in the past five years, I know my Kurdish friends and family living in Kurdistan have absolutely no desire to join the American fight with Iraq. America knows how the Kurds feel about a new war with Iraq, but still they gathered them in Washington once more to "advice" them what is "right" for them. It was only two months ago that those Iraq opposition groups were here in a meeting with the American officials. I am constantly advising my fellow Kurdish politicians and citizens to be very wary of what Bush has in store for us. Now that I have read the report about their treatment toward a "friend," the Saudis, I would hate to see what they would do to someone they don't care for.

The Americans are becoming too arrogant for their own good. I often see commercials and talk shows on television saying, " Why does the world hate us?" The answer is very clear: Look around and see what America is doing to the world. Look and see how your are trying to over through every country, from South America to the Middle East, that you don't like. That is not how a super power should behave.
