PARIS, 17 September — French President Jacques Chirac has criticized the nefarious attempts by certain quarters to link Islam with terrorism.
President Chirac also underlined the importance of dialogue on the basis of the principles propounded by the divine religions. Chirac made the statement after he received Minister of State Prince Abdulaziz ibn Fahd at the Elysee Palace here yesterday.
French sources said Chirac reiterated his country’s keenness to have regular consultation with the Kingdom. “France attaches great importance to the role that could be played by the Kingdom in settling regional and international problems,” he said. (SPA)
