BURAIDAH, 20 September — Prince Sultan, second deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, inaugurated the 250-bed Maternity & Children’s Hospital here on Wednesday.
Health Minister Dr. Osama Shubokshi said the hospital was established at a cost of SR200 million. There are 150 doctors, 300 nurses and 70 administrators at the hospital. The minister disclosed plans to appoint 300 more paramedical staff and administrators.
He said Prince Sultan had donated a CT-scan equipment for the hospital.
Prince Sultan, who is on an inspection tour of the Qasim region, also laid the foundation stone for Princess Noora Family Care project.
He donated SR5 million to the charitable project named after Princess Noora bint Abdul Rahman Al-Faisal. The family healthcare center, covering an area of 25,000 square meters, is estimated to cost SR12 million.
Earlier, the prince opened Al-Otheim Shopping Mall in Buraidah. He was welcomed on arrival at the shopping complex by Prince Faisal ibn Bandar, governor of Qasim, Prince Abdul Aziz ibn Majed, deputy governor, other princes and senior officials.
