RIYADH, 25 September — Prince Sultan, second deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, yesterday held a meeting with top commanders of the armed forces and discussed present and future plans to strengthen the military.

The meeting was attended by Prince Khaled ibn Sultan, assistant defense and aviation minister, Gen. Saleh Al-Mahya, chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Sultan Al-Motairy, deputy chief of staff, and regional commanders.

Meanwhile, Prince Sultan chaired a meeting of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs and discussed ways to counter the smear campaign against Islam. The meeting was attended by a number of ministers including Interior Minister Prince Naif and Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal. (SPA)
