DAVAO CITY, Philippines, 29 Sept. – Film superstar Nora Aunor has said she does not mind if the real star of the new "teleserye" Bituin is Carol Banawa and not her.
Ate Guy, as she is fondly called, said what's important for her is that she is again back in circulation and she does not mind playing "support" roles for a newcomer or an actress who has yet to establish herself in the acting industry.
She added that she is so excited in her new drama program and is really grateful to ABS CBN for trusting her with the project.
Aside from Ate Guy and Carol, the program is also supported by high-caliber performers like Cherrie Gil, Michael de Mesa, Gardo Verzosa and Desiree del Valle.
Bituin premiered last Monday before televiewers with heavy commercial load.
Initial feedback are favorable to the comebacking actress with minor sores coming from her detractors.
The said program would have an initial run of six months, which might be lengthened depending on its rating and how it fares against other rival programs. And, maybe, also depending on Ate Guy's attitude towards her work, right?
ABS CBN reportedly inked a deal for a fat fee.
On the contrary, rival network GMA Channel 7 tried forging a deal with Robin Padilla for a "teleserye" that would replace Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin. The deal went pffft when Padilla demanded a 200,000-peso fee per episode.
Padilla would have reunited with Angelika dela Cruz but observers said he is not a Nora Aunor who deserves a huge talent fee. Aunor is said to be getting millions per month for her first "teleserye."
While Padilla has not inked a deal yet with any network, he plays an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in his latest film, Jeannie Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang with Judy Ann Santos.
The story revolves about an OFW who found an enchanted bottle while working in the Middle East.
