RIYADH, 2 October — Shekhar Gupta, editor-in-chief of the Indian Express, one of India’s leading English dailies, will be among the guests of honor at the Sir Syed Day Dinner here on Oct. 17. The event is being organized by the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association, Riyadh Chapter, at the Riyadh Palace Hotel. Indian Ambassador Talmiz Ahmad will preside over the function. Mohammad Azam Khan, a prominent Aligarian, Parvez Hashmi, a former minister of state in Delhi, and Iqbal Mahmood Khan, a legislator in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, will be the other guests. On the occasion, the association will bring out a souvenir, for which articles have been solicited. A directory of Aligarians will also be released, according to an association statement.
