JEDDAH, 9 October — More than 250 companies are taking part in a 10-day Egyptian products exhibition which was opened by Jeddah Governor Prince Mishaal ibn Majed at Al-Hamra Exhibition Center here yesterday.
Speaking to Arab News, Egyptian Consul Ahmad Al-Bedaiwi highlighted the growing commercial relations between the two countries.
Saudi Arabia represented 30 percent of total Egyptian trade with Arab countries, he said. The volume of two-way trade amounted to more than SR3.75 billion ($1 billion) last year.
Mustafa Nowfal, consul for commercial affairs, said the exhibition would be open to businessmen in the morning hours and to the public in the evening.
Exhibits include clothes, foodstuffs, chemicals, medicine, real estate projects, household utensils, building materials and plastic and paper products.
He said Egyptian companies would try to win agents for their products in the Kingdom. Nowfal said he expected some 200,000 people to visit the show.
The Egyptian consul said a meeting between Saudi and Egyptian businessmen will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition.
