RABAT, 18 October — Relations among civilizations should not turn into conflict, Justice Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Sheikh said here yesterday. Speaking to reporters after opening a symposium on human rights in Islam here, he said civilizations should work together for the benefit of humanity. The symposium organized by the Saudi Cultural Bureau in Morocco in cooperation with the College of Arts and Human Sciences of the University of Rabat, aims at clarifying the meaning of human rights in Islam. He blasted the smear campaign against Islam and Muslims. Saudi Arabia applies Islamic law and at the same time enjoys progress and development, the minister said and highlighted the Kingdom's human rights record. He said the Kingdom maintains excellent relations with other countries. "Saudi Arabia is an open book for all to see," he said in response to the attacks against the Kingdom. (SPA)
