RIYADH, 19 October — The Kingdom has spent SR2.1 trillion on various development projects over the past 30 years, Al-Watan daily reported yesterday. In a report carried on the eve of an international seminar on the future vision of the Saudi economy, the paper said the Kingdom required SR800 billion for the next 10 years to carry out various welfare and development projects. According to analysts, the seminar will help the Kingdom work out its Eighth Five-Year Development Plan (2005-2010). The seminar, organized by the Planning Ministry, will have four main sessions. Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad will address the seminar.
