RIYADH, 21 October — Labor and Social Affairs Minister Ali Al-Namlah said yesterday that Saudi charitable organizations from now on will focus their activities within the Kingdom. Addressing a press conference, Al-Namlah said his ministry was not responsible for humanitarian activities by certain Saudi charitable societies abroad. "We directly supervise the activities of charitable organizations within the Kingdom...and we are not responsible for their activities abroad," he explained. Al-Namlah said a conference of Saudi charitable societies starting here tomorrow was not in reaction to the current international outcry over their activities. "We planned this conference about two years ago," he added.
