RIYADH, 29 October — The ninth session of the Saudi-Italian joint committee for economic and industrial cooperation will start tomorrow in Rome. The meeting will be co-chaired by Minister of Finance and National Economy Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf and Italian Prime Minister and Acting Foreign Minister Silvio Berlusconi. In a statement, Dr. Al-Assaf said the meeting is an important step toward enhancing bilateral ties in various fields, notably in the economic, trade, investment and technical fields as well as promoting cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and European Union. The talks will deal with bilateral cooperation agreements, particularly an accord on avoidance of double taxation.
