JEDDAH, 12 November 2002 — The National Company for Cooperative Insurance (NCCI) has signed an agreement with National Commercial Bank (NCB) to market car insurance policies through the bank’s branches.

Farouk Eid, director of public relations at NCB, told Arab News that the agreement will help NCB clients as well as others to receive the policy valued at SR360 without being charged any additional fee.

Meanwhile, informed sources told Arab News that NCCI was holding talks with other banks including Al-Rajhi to market car insurance policies which will be mandatory on all drivers in the Kingdom from Nov. 20.

Eid said NCB will start providing the service at specific branches in Riyadh and other major cities.

"We’ll expand the service to other branches in accordance with requirement," he added.

NCB has 277 branches.
