ALKHOBAR, 15 November 2002 — Grade 3 pupil Wynonah Van Joy Buot and Grade 4's Darhel Christian Janry Managuelod were named winners of the recently concluded Munting Lakambini and Ginoo (Little Mr. & Miss) contest at the Philippine Community School in Alkhobar.
Wynonah, the daughter of Domingo and Jocelyn Buot, was crowned Munting Lakambini (Little Miss) and Darhel Christian, the sone of Rhandy and Judy Managuelod, got the Munting Ginoo (Little Mister) title.
Another major award was given to the pair of Christine May Oteyza and Frander Esteban who were named as Lakambini and Ginoo ng Wika (language).
The minor awards for the Mutya and Ginoo were Jenny Bernadette Canta and Charles Quizon for Pag-ibig (love), Gwen Eunice Umali and Carl Angelo Llanos for Paraluman (beauty), Gemelyn Barrogo and Cyrus Ancheta for Kasipagan (industriousness), Elaine Villarino and Denzel Mark Toquero for Kalikasan (environment), Charene Angela Bedio and Eldrin Jake Linganay for Karunungan (knowledge).
Christine Joy Juntura and John Marion del Castillo for Katotohanan (truth), Vanessa Ledesama and David Quiambao for Kapayapaan (peace), Christine Ramos and Jessan Chrysler Anotado for Pagpapakumbaba (humility), Donna Agdon and Joshua del Castillo for Kalinisan (cleanliness), Kaylene Apat and Denzel Evangelista for Pag-asa (hope), and Rachel Agoyaoy and Mark Christian Gaffud for Kagandahang Loob (kindness).
Special awards were given to Agdon and Anotado for Best in Talent for Level 1, while Wynonah Buot and David Quiambao received the honors on the same category for Level 2. The Mister and Miss Photogenic were awarded to Juntura and Llanos, respectively. Buot also won the Best in Gown, while Quiambao was awarded Best in Suit.
The coronation night at Philcosa, which is also known as the Al-Andalus International School, was the culminating activity of the "search" launched during the Linggo ng Wika (Language Week) celebration in August.
School principal Dr. Eduardo Malagapo took the occasion to cite the Student Body Organization led by its president Aaron Franco Aves, a 4th year student, and their adviser, Virginia Dy, which organized the event. The parents and the guests present during the big night were so amused watching the candidates on their gown and suit competition, while being serenaded by Dan Meynard Mantaring with his beautiful rendition of Dadalhin and One in a Million songs.
