JEDDAH, 18 November 2002 — The Muslim Education Society (MES), Jeddah chapter, honored the best outgoing students of Grade 10 of International Indian School, Jeddah (IISJ) at a function held here Friday. Habeeba Jameela and Farhan Abdullah Said received trophies for securing first place among girls and boys respectively at this year’s secondary school examination. Gen. Ali Hasan Abdul Ghani, managing director of the IT division of Said Amin Group, and Geoffrey Darlison, head teacher, British International School (Continental), presented the awards to meritorious students. Kochu Moideen shields for best performance in the secondary examination was also given on the occasion. Juliet Jaison and Delvin Cyriac won the awards respectively among girls and boys. A number of students from other schools were also honored. MES also presented certificates of appreciation to a few academics, professionals and community leaders for supporting the organization’s activities. Dr. Ausaf Ahmad, senior economist at the Islamic Development Bank, gave the keynote address. Dr. Abdullah Moopen, president of the society, and C.P. Saleem, secretary, also addressed the audience.
