CAIRO, 21 November 2002 — A study conducted by the Arab Banks Union welcomed the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) experience in promoting inter-GCC investments, and called for adopting it as an example to be followed by all Arab countries to encourage direct or indirect investments.

All Arab countries have to speed up efforts to open up their investment markets by increasing ownership rate for foreigners, the study said.

It also underlined the need to open up Arab capital markets to indirect foreign investment. (KUNA)
