MAKKAH, 29 November 2002 — Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, laid the foundation stone of the SR2 billion King Abdul Aziz Endowment project here yesterday.
The project when completed will provide 25,000 residential units. Four towers will comprise 5,500 residential units in addition to a five star hotel with 1,332 rooms and a shopping complex. The car park at the new project will accommodate 1,400 cars while the prayer hall will have a capacity for 50,000 worshipers.
Earlier in a meeting, Crown Prince Abdullah, underlined the important role being played by Muslim callers and said that Islam would never be affected by the biased campaigns launched against it.
“With the grace of the Almighty Allah Islam will remain strong,” Prince Abdullah said while meeting Prince Bandar ibn Salman ibn Mohammed Al-Saud, adviser at the Crown Prince’s court and head of the non-governmental committee for the Islamic call in Africa, accompanied by 27 Islamic callers from 25 countries at Al-Safa palace here yesterday.
