HYDERABAD, 20 December 2002 — Former Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) N. Vittal yesterday took up his new assignment as chairman of an eight-member Commission on People’s Empowerment, constituted by the Andhra Pradesh government. The commission, which held its first meeting here yesterday, will make recommendations for effective implementation of people-centered administrative reforms and measures for curbing corruption in the delivery of services.
