EMC Corporation announced the appointment of a new regional manager, as well as the establishment of a dedicated office in Saudi Arabia.

Mohammed Amin has been named as EMC’s regional general manager, charged with achieving and sustaining a regional market share of more than 45 percent, and growing EMC’s customer base in the Middle East beyond the leading telecoms providers, energy organizations, and financial services institutions that currently utilize EMC storage solutions.

“The Middle East’s storage market is experiencing unprecedented growth, and it’s being driven by corporate initiatives to centralize vital business information, and to manage that information across different departments, office sites, and even different hardware platforms installed within regional organizations,” commented Amin.

Under Amin’s management, EMC will staff a new office in Riyadh. EMC plans to increase the number of staff in the region during 2003, adding new resources in crucial markets such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, and the UAE.
