JEDDAH, 24 October 2003 — Saudi Call, a leading telecommunications company, has announced the “Middle East’s largest” campaign, which targets Arab youth and families. It will be throughout the month of Ramadan. Titled “Holy Ramadan: The month of blessings,” the promotion has a 2004 Mercedes, with a retail value of over SR125, 000, to be awarded daily all through the fasting month. In addition, a grand prize of SR1 million will be awarded toward the end of the competition.
The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry officials, and representatives of companies including Saudi Telecom and Rotana, at InterContinental Hotel in Jeddah on Monday.
“The campaign is being launched as a result of Saudi Call’s realization of the importance of the telecommunications sector in the Kingdom. Saudi Call also wanted to take advantage of the opportunities the government has been presenting in terms of granting a number of policies which allow entrepreneurs to work freely in the economic sectors,” Osama Al-Yamani, president of the Saudi Call Group, said.
He shared the company’s strategic mission and vision and emphasized its role in the community as an innovative organization determined to provide effective communication solutions to individuals and companies. “Saudi Call provides communication services in sectors like education, medical, and economy and finance. These services contribute to facilities in the day-to-day life of an individual or an organization,” he said.
“Saudi Call’s goal is to transform a mobile phone into a practical, effective and interactive tool in order to obtain news reports, weather forecasts, and stock updates,” he said.
