MAKKAH, 1 November 2003 — Sheikh Saleh ibn Muhammad Al-Taleb, imam and khateeb of the Grand Mosque here, has called upon Muslims to make use of the holy month of Ramadan by engaging in worship, righteous deeds and charitable activities. Delivering his Friday sermon, he said the objective of fasting in Ramadan was to strengthen the faithful in obedience to God and cleanse them of sin.
