MUSCAT, 13 November 2003 — A delegation of leading Omani businessmen flies to Russia on Dec. 7 for a four-day visit to boost trade and commercial links between the two countries, officials said yesterday.
“The visit will help probe new business opportunities and brighten commercial relationships between Oman and Russia,” said Majid ibn Mahmood Al-Zedjali, head of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“The Russian market has good potential for re-exporting heavy-duty goods and vehicles.”
Trade ties between Oman and Russia have surged in the wake of Oman’s accession to the World Trade Organization in 2000.
