JEDDAH, 22 November 2003 — A three-member gang in Riyadh recently took advantage of the innocence of a child to make off with the child’s father’s car. The three men, with joyriding on their minds, approached the primary school student who was sitting in the car with the engine running outside the family’s home, and told him they wanted to see his father. When the child went to fetch him they sped off in the car, which was later recovered “in bad shape”, according to Eqtisadiah, a sister publication of Arab News. Meanwhile the headquarters of Al-Ittifaq Club in Dammam were burgled on Thursday. The thieves came away with mobile phones and money belonging to Al-Khaleej players, who were busy playing a friendly with Ittifaq, Arriyadiyah reported.
