JEDDAH, 29 November 2003 — Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) and British Airways (BA) formally signed their new bilateral cooperation agreement recently. The strategic alliance between the two airlines will see the provision of code share services, a joint frequent flyer program and the provision of a guarantee for Swiss from BA. “Swiss and BA will continue services between Switzerland through Zurich, Basel and Geneva, as well as London Heathrow as a shared operation involving code share flights. Gilbert Veuthey, general manager for Swiss in Saudi Arabia, said that as a member of the Oneworld Alliance, the global grouping of leading air carriers, Swiss passengers will benefit from a substantially expanded range of services, with full access to the Oneworld network of 573 destinations in 136 countries.
