KUWAIT CITY, 1 December 2003 — Kuwaiti stocks began their first trading day yesterday after the Eid Al-Fitr feast by setting a new record high, surpassing the previous record set six weeks ago, investors said. The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) index finished the day at 4,521.80 points, up 0.6 percent on its closing of 4,496.70 points set on Monday before the five-day holidays. Its previous all-time high was 4,512.30 points recorded on Oct. 18. The index is now 90.3 percent higher than its 2002 closing of 2,375.3 points.
