RIYADH, 1 December 2003 — Saudi Arabia’s beggars make some SR700 million a year, according to a study quoted in Al-Youm newspaper. The study estimates that the Kingdom has some 150,000 beggars mostly in Makkah and Madinah. The average share for each beggar is SR1,333 a year.
