SANAA, 9 April 2004 — The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) has accorded Yemen an $80 million loan to finance its rural roads, Yemen’s official news agency reported.
The loan will help Sanaa construct or maintain some 1,000 kilometers of roads in the countryside, Saba said.
The Kuwait-based AFESD, founded in 1974, last month gave Yemen two loans totaling $125 million for power and road projects, it added.
