MANAMA, 14 April 2004 — Saudi artist Hameeda Sinan has opened a solo exhibition featuring 40 of her paintings in the Bahraini capital.
The paintings incorporate collage, calligraphy and mixed media.
Bahrain’s Minister of Information, Nabeel Al-Hamer, who inaugurated the exhibition, lauded the role of Saudi artists in developing contemporary techniques in painting.
He added the exhibition came within the framework of flourishing relations between the two kingdoms, especially in culture and art.
Hameeda has won several prizes, including a gold medal in the Third Annual Exhibition for GCC Countries in the United Arab Emirates and the ambassador’s award from the Saudi Interior Ministry Exhibition.
The exhibition, at the Bahrain Contemporary Arts Association in Juffair, continues until April 22.
