MUSCAT, 19 April 2004 — Oman’s non-oil exports rose 16.2 percent to 304.1 million rials ($790.4 million) in 2003 compared to 261.6 million rials ($680 million) the previous year, according to official figures published yesterday. The main recipients of the sultanate’s non-oil products were the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Jordan and Kuwait, local newspapers reported. Re-exports last year dropped by 17.3 percent from 726.7 million rials ($1.8 billion) in 2002 to 600.8 million rials ($1.5 billion), said the figures, released by the National Economy Ministry.
