RIYADH, 23 April 2004 — Inmarsat is looking to recruit new regional partners to provide its range of global mobile communication solutions across the Middle East. In particular, it is interested in meeting service providers who can deliver its reliable high-speed data solutions, which extend the limited roll out of terrestrial GPRS and 3G networks. Additionally, it will use Saudi GITEX 2004 to promote mobile satellite communications as a key business strategy for organizations in the Kingdom.

Inmarsat’s data strategy is at the heart of the convergence of IT, telecoms and mobility with its new IP-based solutions. The company is aggressively targeting businesses across a range of new industries that can benefit from instant information and communications, and enhanced safety and control. Key to this is the growth of partnerships with Middle East-based organizations that can offer Inmarsat solutions in the region.

“Our success in breaking into new horizontal markets is dependent on us having the right distributors and service providers who can add value to our communications services,” said Samer Halawi, regional director, Inmarsat Middle East & Africa.

Inmarsat exhibited its portfolio of high-speed data solutions at GITEX including the revolutionary regional BGAN service.
