RIYADH, 25 April 2004 — Due to persistent demands from the Keralite community in the Kingdom, Air-India will resume its direct flight to Calicut from Riyadh on May 2.

The airline’s new summer schedule which became effective April 1 canceled the flight, upsetting the Keralite community here.

The Riyadh-based Non-Resident Keralite (NRK) Coordination Committee made representations to Air-India to resume its operations considering the passenger load from Riyadh to Calicut.

“The airline had to reintroduce this direct flight to Calicut since the demand for the resumption of the flight was reasonable,” A-I manager P. Senthil Kumar told Arab News.
