RIYADH, 25 April 2004 — France has said the terrorist attacks will not deter it from investing in the Kingdom. The presence of a large business delegation here underlines French confidence in the Kingdom’s business environment, said French Ambassador Bernard Polletti.

Earlier, Commerce and Industry Minister Dr. Hashim Yamani pointed out that France’s share in the 94 joint ventures stands at 35 percent of the SR3.8 billion investment and called on the country to raise its stakes in their strategic alliance for future investment in the Kingdom.

Both Dr. Yamani and Polletti were speaking at the first session of the Saudi-French Business Council attended by representatives of 35 French companies and an equal number of Saudi businessmen.

Prince Sultan ibn Salman, secretary general of the Supreme Commission for Tourism, also addressed the session.
