KHAMIS MUSHAYT, 27 April 2004 — A police officer saved two children from drowning, Al-Watan reported. Lt. Ayed Saad Al-Shahrani was driving near the riverside when he heard the children, one 7-year-old and the other 11-year-old, screaming for help. He jumped into the water and pulled them out. He took them to the nearest hospital where they received treatment. As a precaution, the children were kept at the hospital overnight to make sure that there were no internal injuries.
