JEDDAH, 27 April 2004 — The Dabbagh Group has appointed Adel Faqeeh as the chairman of board. Faqeeh’s appointment came weeks after Amr A. Dabbagh was appointed as the governor of Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority.
Faqeeh has served as the chairman and managing director of the Savola Group of Companies since 1990.
Prior to his current post, he was the managing director of the Savola Company from 1983 to 1990 while also serving on the boards of several other companies in the group.
He has been a member of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry since 1997 and been the chairman of the board of directors of JCCI since May 2003.
He is also a board member of the Human Resources Development Fund, board member of Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and has been a board member of the Electricity Regulation Authority at the Ministry of Electricity since April 2003. In addition, Faqeeh is also a member of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Regional Council and a board member of Tourism Supreme Council.
Dabbagh Group, a leading family-owned Saudi holding company, was founded by Abdullah M. A. Dabbagh — a former minister of agriculture — in 1962 and consists of more than 30 autonomous companies involved in diversified businesses operating in 30 countries.
